There are three concrete certainties in life: Channel 4 will always do those Top 100 shows; Jimmy Carr will always present them; OK Computer will always top the album list.

Idiot Boy are much like the more energetic moments of OK Computer-era Radiohead. Melodic, rich-sounding and quite gorgeous, they catch you up with earnest guitars, a lively melancholy and wistful vocals, whilst managing not to sound entirely like a Radiohead pretender.

It’s not perfect, but “Burn” is a wonderful contrast to so many current “raw” tunes. Idiot Boy – similarly to the Arcade Fire – remember there’s no shame in a grandiose sound.
